Year 2 at the Tower of London!

This week Year 2 went to the Tower of London. We had to climb up lots of narrow, spiral stairs to get to the battlements. When we made it to the top we could almost see everything! Next we saw the crown jewels. When the light shone on them they sparkled brightly. We never saw anything like it! It was fabulous! We met a beefeater and took a photo with him and he told us all of the ravens names. Then we met a real knight. His name was Sir John. He taught us how to be a knight by serving the King and using a sword. He also showed us a dance he did in the olden days and it was really fun. My favourite part was when we rode our horses around the tower.

We saw the king’s bedroom. Above the bed hung curtains with amazing patterns on them. After that we went to the White Tower. They kept lots of armour in there and we even saw the Kings toilet! Finally we played some games and then it was time to go. We loved it at the Tower of London and hope to go back again one day!
