This week year 2 went on a trip to Hyde Park to learn some geography skills. We went to the learning centre and opened up a huge map of London. We learnt how to read maps and find landmarks. We found Hyde Park, the river Thames and White City. We learnt how to use a compass and find North, East, South and West. Then we had to complete the difficult but exciting Hyde Park challenge. In teams we had to use a map to find 6 locations and then answer questions. We had to try to complete it before the time was up. My group team name was lightning team. For the first challenge we had to go to the old police house and count all the windows. We counted 28 windows. It was fantastic! The winning team was the Lightning team! It was great. For lunch, we had a picnic. It was brilliant! After lunch we went to a ginormous, lovely playground. It had a pirate ship, a tree house and so many other things! Finally we got a train back to school. I liked going to Hyde Park so much and I want to visit again loads more times.
