Plasssssssstic Snake Defeated by Wormholt Park’s Year 6’s

Year 6 took part in another initiative in partnership with Our Planet Needs You this week. The theme for this initiative was labelled Rise Up which focused on raising awareness to the amount of plastic waste people create. We enlisted the help of the whole school to bring in as much plastic as possible from home. After a week of collecting, Year 6 were tasked with creating a long plastic snake by connecting all the bottles using biodegradable tape. Year 6 used teamwork and listening skills to construct a 270m long structure! Once built, we laid it around Wormholt Park. The volunteers for OPNY along with the year 6’s bagged the plastic snake and waited for it all to be collected be Veolia.
